Pantone’s color of the year #livingcoral #pantone #pantonecoloroftheyearRead More
With the color of the year released by Pantone not too long ago, we thought that we would give some tips on how to incorporate it into your wedding or event.
Whether you want to include "greenery" as ink color or paper color it is up to you. Greenery can also be incorporated in the theme or design as well.
This one might be obvious, but going for the green. Include a lot of "greenery" or choose to play up the foliage in the centerpieces to create an arrangement that pays tribute to the shade.
Of course I am not saying to go for a green suit, save that look for the Kentucky Derby. Instead, opt for small details such as ties, pocket squares, the shirt, or bridesmaid dresses.

Q: Tell me about Bella of Louisville and how got started:
A: My first blog post on my current blog, Bella of Louisville, was on April 18, 2014.
I had a previously loved blog (Lou Bella Vita) that I dissolved after I started my marketing agency, Bella Vita Media. I couldn’t balance the two well at that time. I had too many clients which is never a bad thing but I had to make a choice and I chose work because it paid the bills.
I started blogging again in 2014 and started with the idea of a beauty blog but making it about living beautifully. I am still blogging about that but I’ve also opened the doors to writing about new topics. I don’t’ believe we ever stop growing so I don’t want to put myself into a box thus avoiding any confusion about what I can or can’t write about. I’m a writer and I love have zero restrictions, it just keeps things more authentic for me in that arena.
Q: Describe yourself in 3 words:
A: Kind, optimistic, and passionate.
Q: Favorite quote:
A: “All you can take with you is that which you’ve given away.” – It’s a Wonderful Life
Q: Favorite coffee in local Lou:
A: Safai and Day’s when I’m in the Highlands. Press on Market and Please & Thank You when I’m around NuLu / Waterfront.
Q: Favorite local eatery:
A: This may be the worst question to answer. I LOVE FOOD. I think about it waaay too often and indulge myself when I can. I have Crohn’s & Colitis so I am limited on what I can eat but sometimes I bend the rules a bit. I live to pay for those choices but the same goes with everything else in life so I try not to torture myself about it; life’s too short for that mindset.
Q: What tips on being the best you in this new year do you have?
A: 1. Listen to your inner voice. Your gut will never mislead you.
2. Be kind to yourself. You’re not perfect. Never think you are or it will destroy you when you think you’re not. Just live with balance and I don’t mean scales.
3. Challenge yourself. If there’s something that scares you, challenge yourself to do it. Try to surprise yourself with kind little reminders of how strong you are. You’re a warrior. You slay life daily which means you get up for work, dress yourself with a smile, and you choose to see the best in life regardless of how much is thrown at you. Every single person I’ve ever met has had a struggle they’ve had to overcome. The size of them may vary when compared but to that person who is struggling, that problem can feel like the weight of the world is on your back. Realizing you can throw it back on its axis and move forward sharing your experience, strength, and hope means that you’re a survivor. Simply put; survive today and take the year to celebrate miniature warrior moments. If you take the days in small doses they’re less overwhelming. Focus on the here and now by letting tomorrow be tomorrow.
Q: Where do you find positive inspiration?
A: I find it within my family, friends, looking outside, taking a walk, spending more time getting ready, writing, eating, living, et cetera. Positive inspiration relies on us. We can find it any where, we just have to be sure our vision is clouded.

Q: Tell me about Lou What Wear and how got started?
A: Lou What Wear is a real life + style blog based with a bit of a local twist. I try to share about Louisville and it’s great and supremely creative people, stores, products and more as often as possible. But it’s also just a blog where I can share what I am loving and a little slice of my, often messy and unorganized, life. I know there are a lot of blogs out there sharing such a beautifully, perfect aesthetic and while I love that, it’s just not me. I have three kids, a full time job so life is always a little chaotic.
I started the blog while working at an unfulfilling job where I wanted a creative outlet. At the time, back in 2011, there were not as many blogs and there were very few in Louisville. I wanted to do something that shared Louisville’s style which morphed into my sharing more of my personal style and life.
Q: Describe yourself in 3 words.
A: Driven, Outspoken, Fun-Loving
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you imagined.” Thoreau
Q: What is your favorite coffee in local Lou?
A: Please & Thank You
Q: What is your favorite local eatery?
A: Ahh this is a hard one. I live for a great dinner at Jack Fry’s but I love Feast (those tots), Mama’s BBQ (the best wings) and Harvest… I could seriously go on for days on this one.
Q: What tips can you give us for what to wear this holiday season?
A: 1. Fancy holiday event
A dress you feel great in. Every girl knows the feeling when you put on a dress, it fit perfectly and you just feel amazing. Right now I am loving all the black lace options out. They are great for the holidays with a festive heel, bold earrings and fun lipstick. But you can also wear them to weddings or other parties all year.
A: 2. Family holiday party
I like to be a little more comfortable for a family gathering (Give me all the cookies). I love a cozy but chic poncho sweater over leggings or dark denim. Or you can go for a simple shift dress with boots. I’m especially loving the over-the-knee options right now.
Q: What are three clothing "must haves" this season?
A: 1. Black Coated Denim
2. A go-anywhere coat (I love the Regent Coat at J.Crew)
3. Black leather boot
