Taking on the New Year featuring Bella of Louisville!

January 23, 2017 Victoria Staton

Q: Tell me about Bella of Louisville and how got started:
A: My first blog post on my current blog, Bella of Louisville, was on April 18, 2014.

I had a previously loved blog (Lou Bella Vita) that I dissolved after I started my marketing agency, Bella Vita Media. I couldn’t balance the two well at that time. I had too many clients which is never a bad thing but I had to make a choice and I chose work because it paid the bills.

I started blogging again in 2014 and started with the idea of a beauty blog but making it about living beautifully. I am still blogging about that but I’ve also opened the doors to writing about new topics. I don’t’ believe we ever stop growing so I don’t want to put myself into a box thus avoiding any confusion about what I can or can’t write about. I’m a writer and I love have zero restrictions, it just keeps things more authentic for me in that arena.

Q: Describe yourself in 3 words:
A: Kind, optimistic, and passionate.

Q: Favorite quote:
A: “All you can take with you is that which you’ve given away.” – It’s a Wonderful Life

Q: Favorite coffee in local Lou:
A: Safai and Day’s when I’m in the Highlands. Press on Market and Please & Thank You when I’m around NuLu / Waterfront.

Q: Favorite local eatery:
A: This may be the worst question to answer. I LOVE FOOD. I think about it waaay too often and indulge myself when I can. I have Crohn’s & Colitis so I am limited on what I can eat but sometimes I bend the rules a bit. I live to pay for those choices but the same goes with everything else in life so I try not to torture myself about it; life’s too short for that mindset.

Q: What tips on being the best you in this new year do you have?
A: 1. Listen to your inner voice. Your gut will never mislead you.
2. Be kind to yourself. You’re not perfect. Never think you are or it will destroy you when you think you’re not. Just live with balance and I don’t mean scales.
3. Challenge yourself. If there’s something that scares you, challenge yourself to do it. Try to surprise yourself with kind little reminders of how strong you are. You’re a warrior. You slay life daily which means you get up for work, dress yourself with a smile, and you choose to see the best in life regardless of how much is thrown at you. Every single person I’ve ever met has had a struggle they’ve had to overcome. The size of them may vary when compared but to that person who is struggling, that problem can feel like the weight of the world is on your back. Realizing you can throw it back on its axis and move forward sharing your experience, strength, and hope means that you’re a survivor. Simply put; survive today and take the year to celebrate miniature warrior moments. If you take the days in small doses they’re less overwhelming. Focus on the here and now by letting tomorrow be tomorrow.

Q: Where do you find positive inspiration?
A: I find it within my family, friends, looking outside, taking a walk, spending more time getting ready, writing, eating, living, et cetera. Positive inspiration relies on us. We can find it any where, we just have to be sure our vision is clouded.

Thank you for reading, make sure you check out the Bella of Louisville lifestyle blog! We hope that your year is filled with dream that come true!
